Pan liquidator mulls ceo lawsuit in New York City’s federal court
An online discussion thread about the lawsuit that went viral last week started with two anonymous posters who are planning to «put out information and create more of a public nuisance» to get their names out there. The anonymous commenters are listed in red on the thread in question and include:
Michael H. Smith, a top advisor to Trump’s presidential campaign, filed a lawsuit Monday to have his name listed on a list of company employees «involved in political activities.» Smith has been an informal adviser to Trump for months. The list of company employees includes the billionaire himself and an array of other prominent political figures, including former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, former U.S. Rep. Joe Scarborough and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie. Smith’s attorney, Robert F. Reilly, said the lawsuit seeks a declaration of libel against those who spread the claims.

Steve Bannon, who has ties to Trump through his close ties to Stephen J. Bannon, President Donald Trump’s chief strategist, said Monday that «there’s nothing more to this story» than the fact that Smith is a «well-known, influential consultant.» Bannon added, «There’s nothing more to this story than the fact that was part of the ‘busting campaign.’ The press did a good job, and we’re going to let them do their job.»

Abbott in 2014:
«He told The Courier-Mail he understood some companies that were involved in laundering money were not going to contest the claims, or that they didn’t want the $40 million penalty imposed as punishment.
«But, ‘We’re not going to give up on them. The $20 million is about taking the money into account, we’ve got some other companies, some in Europe, in other countries that are involved in a completely different industry that we’re not particularly concerned about’.
«He said that in terms of ‘laundering’, the government has taken them to task. They’ve got some rules in place, but I know of no other company that’s had their account, in one sense of the word, frozen for 30 years because of illegal money transfers.»
«He did not think that’s what the government was trying to do, that’s why it’s being fought in federal court.»
